FRH is happy to launch the call for abstracts to participate in the Biennial Conference 2023, scheduled to take place in Lund, Sweden, from 20-22 April 2023.
Submitting an abstract to this high-level event gives you an opportunity to present your work to a distinguished audience of heritage experts. It is also an opportunity to meet high-level practitioners and expand your professional network. Do not miss the chance to take part in a preeminent European conference on heritage!

30 November 2022: Submission deadline
Second week of December: Notification of acceptance/rejection
28 February 2023: Deadline to submit conference posters. There is no word or image limit. The poster template can be downloaded here.
20 – 22 April 2023: FRH Biennial Conference
Themes and subthemes
The overarching theme of the conference is sustainability. FRH Scientific Committee welcomes submissions on abstracts addressing one or more topics relevant to these 4 thematic clusters:
- Economic sustainability: employment, funds, growth, asset management, Real Estate.
- Social sustainability: capacity building, placemaking, education, war/crisis, stakeholder, community participation.
- Environmental Sustainability: climate, building materials, architecture, environment, awareness.
- Spiritual and Cultural Sustainability: cultural expressions, religion, intangible heritage, identity, cultural expressions, faith, intercultural.
Submission guidelines
- Abstracts must have a maximum of 200 words
- They must be English
- They must be submitted as a PDF or Word file
- The deadline is 30 November 2022
- Abstracts must be submitted through the form at the bottom of this page
Selection process
FRH Scientific Committee will screen all submissions and make a selection in December. Authors/presenters will be notified whether they have been successful shortly after. The 20 selected abstracts will be invited to produce a poster for the conference exhibition. The best four abstracts out of these 20 will also be invited to give a 5-minute presentation.
