The conference will provide a forum for both policy debate and exchange of knowledge amongst professionals in the field of heritage and culture. The event will provide participants with unique opportunity to discuss pre-eminent questions such as:

  • challenges facing the sector throughout Europe;
  • cultural, social, economic and environmental importance of religious heritage;
  • measures needed to promote religious tourism;
  • to whom does religious heritage in Europe belong;
  • future use of heritage buildings;
  • mobile heritage;
  • sacred art use of religious buildings for secular purposes;
  • organisational changes required;
  • and others.

Participants

  • Olivier de Rohan Chabot, President of La Sauvegarde and Chairman of Future for Religious Heritage will welcome experts, FRH members and leading sector stakeholders from across Europe;
  • The European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, Mr Tibor Navracsics, and Members of the European Parliament will address the conference;
  • Leading stakeholders in the sector including representatives of churches and other religious bodies, heritage organisations, local government, politicians at a national and European level;
