2025 Winner and finalists
The winner and finalists of the FRH Photo Competition 2025 were selected at the Jury meeting held on 25 October 2024. The competition received 210 photographs from 48 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and South America.
Alicia Cano (Spain) was chosen as the overall winner of the 2025 edition for her photograph ‘Smoke’, in the category of Artefacts. The three incense sticks standing amid the drifting smoke, invite the viewer to imagine the tranquil space beyond the frame and to wonder for whom the incense was lit.
The eight finalists selected by the jury for the exceptional quality and meaning of their photographs are: Yevhen Samuchenko (Ukraine), Muzaffer Murat İlhan (Turkey) and Mouneb Taim (Syria), in the category of Religious Buildings; Sirsendu Gayen (India) and Muzaffer Murat İlhan (Turkey) in the category of Artefacts; and Moe Wai (Myanmar), Sirsendu Gayen (India) and Alicia Cano (Spain) in the category of People and Events.
