Heritage in Motion Awards: The Catharijneconvent Museum among the finalists

The Catharijneconvent Museum is among the finalists of the Heritage in Motion Awards, an annual multimedia competition for the creators of films, games, apps and websites on themes related to Europe’s heritage, cultural and natural, tangible and intangible.

Heritage in Motion grants awards and celebrates the best multimedia achievements and products, through varied, creative and innovative means, in order to draw attention to the value of Europe’s cultural and natural heritage in all its facets.

The finalists for the third edition of Heritage in Motion are:

  • Landesarchiv Baden-Württemberg , Archivportal-D- Building a German archives portal – GERMANY
  • Museum Catharijneconvent, Church collection online – NETHERLANDS
  • Haunted Planet Studios LTD, Bram Stoker’s Vampires – IRELAND
  • Vizerra, Virtual Architecture Museum – RUSSIA
  • Visual Dimension bvba, Ename 1290 – BELGIUM
  • IJsfontein, Strong Water: Interactive exploration on the history of the Dutch Waterline – NETHERLANDS
  • Province of Limburg, Limburg 1914-1918, Small stories from a Great War – BELGIUM
  • Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Bursa: from traditional to universal – TURKEY

The finalists are competing for 4 Awards and one overall Best Achievement Award. The winners, selected by an international jury composed of multimedia experts and consumers, will be announced and celebrated at a ceremony on 20 May 2016 in Lesbos (Greece), during the annual conference of the European Museum Academy, founding partner of this initiative. The event will be held at the Museum of Industrial Olive-Oil Production.

Heritage in Motion is a joint initiative of the European Museum Academy, Europa Nostra and Europeana.
