Organised by FRH Young Professionals and Researchers Working Group
FRH is delighted to invite you to a new online session of our FRH Talks series. On this occasion, the members of our Young Professionals and Researchers Working Group have joined efforts to offer an inspiring online session that will showcase the work of emerging researchers and professionals in the field of religious heritage through three specific cases.
The talk will begin with the presentation of Meetali Gupta, architect specialising in World Heritage Studies, who is currently focused on EU policies and frameworks for young heritage professionals. Meetali will speak about the challenges and opportunities faced by young professionals and give an overview of her recent publication, ‘Heritage for Young Professionals: Call to Joint Action,’ co-authored under BTU Cottbus.
Our second speaker, Tudor Coman, graduated in Computer Science, will share his experience at the Ambulance for Monuments, a Romanian project dedicated to the preservation of endangered heritage sites in the country, most of which are churches. He will focus his presentation on the project’s impact on informal education for young professionals through hands-on training, an approach that is much needed across Eastern Europe.
Our third speaker, Inge Basteleur, project leader education at the Groningen Historic Churches Foundation (Groningen Kerken), will conclude this online talk by presenting the School Church, a project that has breathe new life into an old medieval church by transforming it into a museum and educational space to discuss the religious traditions of Christianity and Islam. She will explain how the project has influenced heritage preservation and education.
This online session will take place on 24 October 2024 from 17:00 to 18:00 CET.
