Theme and sub-themes

Amidst the swift currents of change, religious heritage stands as a beacon of resilience, echoing the stories of our past and charting the course for our collective future.

This year, the FRH conference delves deeper into the concept of transition, probing the depths of challenges faced by religious heritage and seeking solutions for its enduring significance. How can we ensure that our heritage remains not only intact but thrives as a vital resource for all citizens in the sustainable tapestry of tomorrow?

We invite scholars, practitioners, and visionaries to contribute their insights and expertise. From the meticulous craft of architectural conservation to the transformative power of community engagement, every perspective enriches our collective understanding and empowers us to chart a course toward a more sustainable future.

We welcome submissions addressing one or more topics relevant to these 4 thematic clusters:

  • Resilient Heritage: climate change, demographic changes/migration, abandoned heritage, natural disasters, renewable energy, insulation, resilience
  • Sustainable Solutions: adaptive reuse, heritage crafts skills, maintenance/restoration  challenges, best and worst cases, education, training for professionals
