Run for Heritage 2021

The last editions involved hundreds of students from local schools and local organisations in the Spanish regions of Valencia and Cantabria. Get inspired with their stories!

POTES (SPAIN) – OCTOBER 2021

The event involved a bike ride from the Centro Estudios Lebaniegos to the Monastery of Santo Toribio de Liébana. Participants of the event included students and teachers from 5th and 6th grade of the Colegio Concepción Arenal from Potes and Vice President and Minister of Universities, Equality, Culture and Sport of Cantabria, Pablo Zuloaga Martínez.

POTES (SPAIN) – OCTOBER 2021

The event took place in the Hermitage of St. Catherine, the Monastery of St. Toribio, and the Hermitage of San Miguel. It involved 20 students of the CRA of Liébana and Peñarrubia

In each of the three locations, there were activities related to the environment and its heritage such as: history lessons of the enclaves, scavenger hunts, flora identification, landscape recognition, aspects and curious things

POTES (SPAIN) – NOVEMBER 2021

This event was an all-inclusive event involving social inclusion groups from two rural areas of Cantabria, Spain. These groups raced from the Centro Estudios Lebaniegos to the Monastery of Santo Toribio in the town of Potes. The participating groups were: Viviendo from the Picos de Europa Region, Cultivando Inclusión from the Nansa Valley region, and the group Arrastrasillas.

FRH is proud to have hosted this all-inclusive event which included participants with disabilities. Our shared religious heritage belongs to all of us and deserves to be appreciated by everyone.

ORIHUELA (SPAIN) – DECEMBER 2021

The event involved 4th, 5th and 6th grade students from CEIP Virgen de la Puerta and the Colegio Diocesano Oratorio Festivo de San Miguel. The city of Orihuela took the opportunity to record a promotional video with some of its main religious buildings. These buildings include: Santo Domingo, the Cathedral El Salvador, the church of Santas Justa and Rufina, the Episcopal Palace, the church of Monserrate, the church of Santiago, and the Seminary of San Miguel.
