UK – Invitation: Words and Music at St Paul’s Church, 1st Oct

On Wednesday 1st October, NADFAS and the National Churches Trust are holding an evening of Words and Music at the beautiful St Paul’s Church in Covent Garden. The special evening will combine a talk by noted designer and architectural writer Matthew Rice and a recital by renowned Russian pianist Pavel Timofeyevsky. Matthew will talk about ‘The Unlovable Church’, offering an insight into the wonderful hidden gems featured in his Rice’s Church Primer. Pavel will perform a programme including Chopin’s Impromptu op 36 and Scherzo op 39, Debussy’s Clair De Lune (from Suite Bergamasque), and Gershwin-Timofeyevsky’s Rhapsody in Blue paraphrase.

Drinks and canapés will be served, and Matthew will be doing a book-signing. Doors will open at 5.30pm for a 6.30pm start, should you wish to arrive early to explore the famous Actors’ Church, an Inigo Jones masterpiece. Carriages will be at 9pm.

Tickets cost £27.50. Numbers are limited, and are available on a first-come-first-served basis – but some are still available! To reserve your tickets, please apply online via the NADFAS website at http://nadfas.com/events/nadfas-national-churches-trust-invite-you-evening-words-and-music-matthew-rice-and-pavel. If you are unable to to apply for tickets online, you can instead send a cheque for your chosen number of tickets to the National Churches Trust, 7 Tufton Street, London, SW1P 3QB.
