This beautiful website dedicated to the churches of the Gemer County was created by Eva Wagner as a part of her MA Thesis ‘Virtual Tour through the Gemer Churches’. Its main aim is to promote this fascinating group of churches to the wide spectrum of the visitors interested in cultural heritage. Thanks to the rich natural resources Gemer was one of the most prosperous regions of the medieval Hungarian Kingdom and its churches are important witnesses of its rich economic and cultural past. The website gives a short introduction about the region, an interactive map and a section dedicated to the churches. Each church has a short historical background, beautiful picture gallery and some of them also have a 3D model. So far the website provides information on nine main churches but new churches are still being added.
