NORWAY – Letting the wooden churches rot

“Norwegian municipalities are too slow with the maintenance of their old wooden churches”, says Svein Huus Folkedal, expert in moistire damage.

An extensive fungal attack is revealed in the largest wooden church in Mandal – and the bill could come up against a million NOK. Mandal’s economy is frail, and it is uncertain whether the state will help.

Et omfattende soppangrep er avdekket i landets største trekirke i Mandal – og regningen kan komme på opp imot en million kroner. Mandals økonomi er skral, og det er usikkert om Staten vil bidra.
