HUNGARY: The Benedictine Archabbey of Pannonhalma

This Unesco World Heritage site had undergone restoration in previous months. The present church was built in the early gothic style in the beginning 13th century but significantly changed during the restoration of Ferenc Stormo in 19th century. The plans for current interior restoration were created by British architect John Pawson and the main objective was to enhance the simplicity and meditative nature of the space. The reconstruction was finalised by new consecration of the Archabbey on 27th of August.
