FRH TALKS | MUDD – Museo Diocesano Diffuso di Napoli. A sustainable model for heritage promotion, youth employment and urban revitalisation

We are pleased to invite you to an engaging online event as part of our FRH Talk series, where we will learn more about the MuDD – Museo Diocesano Diffuso (Diocesan Museum Diffused), a groundbreaking initiative that proposes a model for heritage-driven social and economic regeneration.

Unlike traditional museums, the MuDD is envisioned as a network of sacred sites designed to transform Naples’ extensive religious and artistic heritage into a dynamic, living museum spread throughout the city. The MuDD not only connects people to their cultural roots but also generates new opportunities for youth employment and urban development.

In his presentation, our guest speaker, Vincenzo Porzio, director of Fondazione Napoli C’entro, will explain more about this model of heritage management and regeneration and how this collaboration between the Archdiocese of Naples, Fondazione Napoli C’entro and local partners began. He will also review the achievements since the initiative was launched in 2022 and outline future plans, with the hope of inspiring other stakeholders across Europe.

The event will take place on Tuesday, 2 December 2025 from 12:00 to 13:00 CET via Zoom. Join us to learn how Naples is transforming its heritage into a catalyst for inclusion, innovation, and sustainable growth!

About the speaker

Vincenzo Porzio is the Director of the Fondazione Napoli C’entro, an organisation founded in 2024 on the initiative of the Archdiocese of Naples to create jobs and opportunities through the restoration and valorisation of Naples’ artistic and religious heritage.

He has a degree in cultural heritage tourism. He subsequently expanded his skills in marketing and leadership, both in America and Italy, specializing in digital marketing and corporate public communications.

He has had the honor of being a founding member of the social cooperative La Paranza, where he has served as communications manager since 2006. Together with his friends and colleagues from the Rione Sanità district, in 2008 he launched the “Catacombs of Naples” project, now recognised nationally and internationally as a model for local community development, focused on the valorization of people and common goods.
