Join our two-day free masterclass
We are pleased to invite you to a new FRH masterclass that will focus on the multiple intersections between religion, culture and tourism.
Travel with religious connotations has gained importance in recent years. This has led to both a touristification of religion and a spiritualisation of tourism. The International Research Conference of the Theologische Hochschule Chur explores the sociological, art historical, tourism, and theological aspects of this dual movement. It particularly examines religion as an educational domain in cultural tourism.
The masterclass will take place on 5-6 June 2025 in a hybrid format. The presentations will be in German and English with simultaneous translation into both languages. For more information, please see the programme below.
This event is organised by the Theologische Hochschule Chur in the frame of their “Religion-Culture-Tourism” research project, which also includes the participation of the Institute for Catholic Theology and its Didactics of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. Thanks to the cooperation with Future for Religious Heritage (FRH), online participation will be possible free of charge.
