“Continuity in Evolving Cultural Expressions” – Michaelstein Abbey, Blankenburg, Germany

The 3rd event of the FRH Biennial Conference is titled “Continuity in Evolving Cultural Expressions”. It will take place in Michaelstein Abbey, Blankenburg, Germany on Friday, 22 October 2021 from 15:00 – 17:00 CET. This free hybrid event is open to everyone and will be live-streamed online.

This event will feature a panel of experts including:

  • Ms Sabine Verheyen – Chair of the European Parliament Committee on Culture and Education, Member of the European Parliament
  • Dr. Christian Philipsen – Director General of the cultural foundation Kulturstiftung Sachsen-Anhalt
  • Hannes Langbein – President of the Society for Contemporary Art and the Church “Artheon”, Director of Foundation “Stiftung St. Matthäus”
  • Stefan Beier – FRH Council member and Chair of the board of Klosterland e.V.

The panellists will discuss topics related to the main theme such as:

  • Discussing Continuity of religious heritage in connection with tradition
  • Assuring a future for religious heritage sites
  • Ensuring the compatibility of new uses of religious heritage
