UK – The Churches Conservation Trust celebrates 40th anniversary

During 2009, The Churches Conservation Trust celebrates 40 years of saving historic churches at risk. Numerous events during the year have been used to thank those who have contributed to achievements since 1969 – donors, volunteers, architects, contractors, craftspeople and staff. A highlight was the Service of Thanksgiving held at Westminster Abbey on Wednesday 16 September 2009. Photos are now on their website: http://www.visitchurches.org.uk/westminsterphotos/

The Churches Conservation Trust is a national charity protecting historic churches at risk. They care for over 340 special buildings which attract more than 1.5 million visitors a year. They are kept open, in use and free to all – living once again at the heart of their communities. For further information: www.visitchurches.org.uk
