NORWAY – Commemorating the church as cradle of democracy

Elections to the National Assembly in 1814 were held in churches around the country and was Norway’s first national elections. Sunday 23 February marked the constitution anniversary across the country, with celebratory services and unveiling of election authorizations and signs in the churches.
