France: Petition to save Chapelle Sainte-Therese from demolition

William Chevillon (1992), art historian and self-proclaimed activist, has launched a campain to save the Chapel of Sanite-Therese in Saint-Jean-de-Monts from its scheduled demolition.

He argues that the art deco church can be maintained and merits conservation. The parish priest wants to demolish the church, which is still in use, and build a new one in its place, arguing that the necessary repairs would cost 528 000 euros whereas a new structure is projected at 400 000.
