BELGIUM – cataloging movable heritage in preparation for extended use

After eight years of work, the religious heritage of Hasselt – 21 churches, 4.000 items of movable heritage – has been cataloged in full. The Belgian municipality started this project in order to gain insight into its religious heritage. “In the future, when we will need to consider the possibility of finding new or extended uses for our churches, we will now be able to take the movable heritage inside them into consideration.”
